What is acceptance criteria

Acceptance Criteria (AC) are the lowest-level functional requirements that a software product must meet to be accepted by its users or the customer and be compatible with other systems. They are specific to each user story and describe the functionality from the end-user perspective.

How to collect acceptance criteria using StoriesOnBoard AI

Asking StoriesOnBoard AI to write acceptance criteria will result in a list of possible criteria. You can add all the brainstormed items or deselect irrelevant ones.

Like user story writing, this feature can be triggered directly from a user story card. Acceptance criteria will be added to the end of the description.

How to collect acceptance criteria using StoriesOnBoard AI

  1. Make sure StoriesOnBoard AI is enabled on your workspace

  2. Make sure that the product context form is filled out

  3. Open a user story card

  4. Click into the card description field

  5. Hit "Space" to enable AI assistant

  6. Select "Write acceptance criteria"

  7. Refine the result if required

  8. Accept the acceptance criteria

Step by step guide to collect acceptance criteria with StoriesOnBoard AI

Open the user story card and click into the description editor. Hit "Space" to enable the AI assistant.

Select "Write acceptance criteria" to collect items.


Review the acceptance criteria list and refine the result if needed by simply instructing the AI assistant to collect more specific acceptance criteria.

Add instructions for refinement to the AI assistant.


Review changes and click "Accept" to add the collected list to your story.


Upon approval the collected acceptance criteria will be added to the description.
