Step-by-step guide to import cards from GitHub into a story map

Once a story map linked to a GitHub repository, any new issue created in GitHub can be imported into StoriesOnBoard. We indicate changes with a red dot on the integration setting icon on the story map interface.

By clicking on the “Import & sync changes from GitHub” you will import any new cards which is not yet available on StoriesOnBoard.

In case you did not specify the release of the issue in GitHub, new items always go under the “Unscheduled cards” area under import placeholders in the first columns of the story map.

Move the imported card(s) under the right goal and step into the relevant release. If you moved all newly imported cards to the right place on the story map, you can delete the import placeholders.

However, if you specify the release of the issue in GitHub, new items always go into the associated release under import placeholders in the first columns of the story map. Then you can simply move cards under the right user goal and step within the release. Import placeholder cards can be deleted once you move all imported cards under them.

If you defined the status mapping in integration settings, and you set a status in GitHub for the issue you import, then the issue will also indicate that status on the story map as well. Status can be changed from GitHub and it will be synced to StoriesOnBoard.
