Overview

StoriesOnBoard offers multiple ways to create your story map according to the right approach. You can create a new story map from scratch and design your solution or import an existing backlog into StoriesOnBoard and improve it - all is possible.

How to create a user story map

  1. Select the right product where you want to work

  2. Select the "Create story map" option

  3. Choose the right approach to create your story map from the following options:

    1. Create from Jira

    2. Create from scratch

    3. Create with StoriesOnBoard AI

    4. Create by copy

    5. Create from template

    6. Create by import

    7. Start with our example map


How to create your story map from scratch

Creating a user story map from scratch is one of the most popular approach to map out your solution. As indicated above select the "Create from scratch" option to get started.

  1. Choose the "Create from scratch" option

    1. For quick creation name your story map and click on "Create"

  2. For step-by-step settings click on "Advanced options"

  3. Enter the name of your story map

  4. Select collection where you want to store your story map (optional)

  5. Set estimation unit (standard approach : story points)

  6. Click "Continue"

  7. Adjust story map visibility settings (Product visible, Private, Public)

  8. Invite collaborators and set their story map access level

  9. Proceed with "Finish" to create the story map
