Overview

StoriesOnBoard offers the flexibility to manipulate assets' visibility according to different requirements of the team when they wish to share the map with stakeholders.

What are the available story map's visibility options

Available story map visibility settings:

  1. Private
    A story map created or set with private visibility only accessible for those user who are directly assigned to the particular story map. Users who has no access to a private story map will not see the story map at all expect Subscription Admins.

  2. Product visible
    A story map created or set with product visibility is accessible for everyone on the product with read-only access. However, in order to be able to make changes, users are required to be added to the story with a story map role as Admin or Editor.

  3. Public

    Anyone who knows the address of the story map (URL) can view the map. No sign-in required!

How to create a story map and set the right visibility up

  1. On the product dashboard interface create a new story map

  2. Choose the "Create from scratch" option

  3. Select the "Advanced options" menu

  4. Enter basic story map details and click proceed with "Continue"

  5. Select the right story map visibility option for your story map

  6. Adjust collaborators if needed and click on "Finish"

Step-by-step guide for new story maps:

On the product dashboard proceed to create a new story map as following:

Select the "Create from scratch" option to get started.

Select the "Advanced options" menu for details.

Enter basic details about your story map and click on "Continue".

On the "Collaboration & Visibility" tab adjust the story map's visibility for the desired option. Add collaborators, setup there roles on the story map and proceed with "Finish" to create the story map.

How to update an existing story map's visibility

  1. Select the "Story maps" menu

  2. Click on "Manage story maps"

  3. Find the story map you want to update

  4. Select the three dots menu and click on "Edit"

  5. Select the "Visibility" tab

  6. Update the visibility of your story map

  7. Save your changes

Step-by-step guide for updating an existing story map's visibility:

Select the "Story maps" menu in the left side menu pane to get started. Then select the "Manage story maps" option.

Find the story map in the list and at the end of the line click on the three dots menu and select the "Edit" option.

Select the "Visibility" tab and update your story map's visibility as required then save your changes to be applied.
