How to archive a story map

There are scenarios when you no longer wan to work on a story map and put it aside but you don’t want to delete them and losing your data. StoriesOnBoard allows you to archive your story maps by following the steps below:

  1. Open the story map

  2. Go to “Settings”

  3. Select “Admin Settings”

  4. Click on “Archive story map”

  5. Confirm your choice by selecting “Archive”

Step-by-step guide to archive a story map

To archive a user story map, open your story map and go to “Settings" then select "Amin settings".

Then you will see the Admin settings where you need to click on “Archive story map” option.

In the last step you need to confirm of your archive action by clicking on the “Archive” button. Once you archived your story map you will be redirected to the dashboard and you will see the list of your story maps.

Who can archive a story map

Users with story map Admin role can archive the story map. Users with Editor role cannot archive the story map as they cannot access the “Admin Settings” of the story map. If you are an Editor user, please contact the Admin of the story map.


Where to find archived story maps

To access archived story maps follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Dashboard

  2. Select “Story maps”

  3. Click on “Manage story maps”

How to restore an archived story map

To restore an archived story map see the steps above to find your archived story maps. Then click on the three dots menu and select “Restore from archive”.

Once you restored the story map you can access it by navigating to the dashboard and selecting “Story maps” tab to list your story maps.
