StoriesOnBoard uses different roles to provide certain rights of users and to restrict permissions. On Workspace level, we distinguish the following roles: Subscription Admin, Admin, Member, Observer. You can also select roles for each story map one by one. On Story Map level, user roles can be: Admin, Editor or Viewer.

You can change the roles of collaborators on Workspace level by performing the following steps:

  1. Go to your workspace and click on Manage on the upper black bar
  2. Select People from the drop-down menu
  3. Choose the collaborator's desired role from the drop-down menu at the bottom left corner.

If you need to change user role on a Story map level, please see :

  1. Go to your workspace and click on Manage on the upper black bar
  2. Select Story Maps from the drop-down menu
  3. Choose the story map by clicking on it
  4. Choose Collaborators tab and select the user
  5. Select the new role from the left bottom dropdown menu and click on it.

As it is indicated above, in some cases you might need to add Member additional permissions for example to create a story map or a Viewer to be able to comment on cards.

How can I enable 'Can create story map' permission?

  1. Go to your Workspace and select Manage from the upper black bar
  2. Choose the user, whom you'd like to provide this right
  3. Click on More section
  4. Select 'Enable story map creation' from the drop-down menu

How can I enable viewers commenting? (Please note this feature is available on Standard Plan)

  1. Go to your Workspace and select Manage from the upper black bar
  2. Select Story maps from the drop-down menu
  3.  Click on the story map title
  4. Choose Collaborators tab
  5. Check the box for 'Enable commenting for viewer collaborators'
