Overview
You can create a story map in seconds by importing your product backlog into StoriesOnBoard from a Microsoft Excel file. This allows you to import existing user stories and visualize them on a story map to organize and improve your product backlog.
How to import existing user stories into StoriesOnBoard
Create a new story map
Navigate to the "Story maps" menu and then select "Add a new story map"
Open the product dashboard and create a new story map
Select the "Create by import" option
Upload your file - pay attention to the required structure requirements
You can preview the story map before you continue
Proceed with "Continue"
Complete the basic story map details:
Enter the name of your story map
Enter story map description (optional)
Update collection settings (optional)
Update estimation unit (optional)
Select "Continue"
Complete Collaborators & visibility details:
Select story map visibility
private
product visible
public
Update comment settings
Update collaborator settings
Select "Finish"
What data structure can be imported into StoriesOnBoard
We support a specific structure to achieve the best result during the import. The following information can be imported:

subtask
subtask description
status
estimation
release
persona
prioritization
workflow settings
annotations

Step-by-step guides to import existing user stories into StoriesOnBoard
Create a new story map by selecting the "Story maps" menu and click on "Add a new story map".
Proceed with the "Create by import" option.
Upload your XLSX file based on the accepted structure:

You can have a look at the preview of your story map. Then select "Continue".
Fill the basic details of your story map:
enter the name of your story map
description
update collection settings
setup estimation unit
Update story map collaborators and visibility
Select story map visibility
private
product visible
public
Update comment settings
Update collaborator settings
Select "Finish"
The import will be completed and you can access the story map to edit and improve your product backlog.
